Boy, do I remember that jet-lag thing. It is EVIL. Actually, I don’t remember much about it-just a fog…did I really go to church 36 hours after getting off the plane or was that just a dream? We stayed in that Hotel in Guangzhou!! Eat at the buffet! It’s expensive, but GOOD-best salmon I have ever had. Danny’s Bagel has great pizza delivery, too.

Reading about Lily speaking in Chinese is amazing to me. Since Ella Grace doesn’t really talk because of her palate, I never knew what she understood really.

Can’t wait til you get home-have a good time in Guangzhou.

Hang in there-I can imagine your frustration with that issue, but all the time you spend there is only a small fraction of the bonding process. Remember, Ella Grace screamed and cried when I tried to leave her with Frank while in China-what a distant memory now!

I have been enjoying your journey. Thank you for making this website and letting us travel along with your ups and downs. We adopted our daughter from Changchun SWI on January 5, 2004, Hannah-Li, and it brings back such a rush of memories. I did not go on the trip and my husband Sam took care of picking up Hannah-Li and bringing her home safely, along with shopping, photographing, videotaping, etc. This shows me what a busy man he was!

God bless you all on your final legs of this journey. She is indeed a beautiful child, along with your precious Sarah and Kathryn, also.

Thanks for keeping us all up to date on what is going on with you as you begin your new family bonds. I am confident that Lily knows already in her heart that you are indeed the parents she is suppose to be with. She is precious and beautiful and I can’t wait to kiss her in person.

I am sitting in Panera Bread ( looking at your website ) with chill bumps all over me, re-living the first time they handed us Garrett and, later, Abby. There is no way to imagine all the feelings you will have when a stranger puts a baby in your arms and says that this child is now ( instantaneously! ) yours, no matter how long you have prepared yourself for this moment! Though mutual bonding grows stronger over a period of time, there seems to be an “instant meshing of souls” between adopted children and their parents that is different from a birth-parent/child experience. Both are wonderful, but, for me, they were so totally different! ( The proof is in the faces of Lily and Angela in the picture! And I have no doubt it’s there between David and Lily, too. ) It will be interesting to hear your feelings about this very, very special and blessed event in your lives. Thanks for letting us re-live our adoptions by sharing in yours–this has been an exciting time for us, too! SHE IS BEAUTIFUL and sooo blessed to have “adopted” your family. God has chosen the perfect parents for Lily and two of the sweetest sisters a little girl could ever ask for. I wish we could be there to see Sarah’s and Kathryn’s faces the first time they see Lily in person!
